Obamacare’s Other Surprise - NYTimes.com
Obamacare’s Other Surprise - NYTimes.com
I love reading articles like this that clearly show the huge promise that the Affordable Care Act is going to deliver to the American public. The real goal of the ACA is to flip the system where doctors and hospitals are paid for value rather than volume. To do this, they need access to data and that is what we technology entrepreneurs are making happen.
It's thrilling!

Why Medical Research Does Big Data Wrong
Why Medical Research Does Big Data Wrong raises some very interesting and disturbing points.
Have you ever asked how the surgeon determined, definitely, whether your cancer had metastasized? Likely, the answer is that the results for the "sentinel node" test were negative? But, what if the wrong node is identified as the sentinel node? What if the way the subsequent tests were performed is faulty?
Wouldn't you say that it's a matter of life and death to ask these questions and get the right answers?

Dirty Medicine
| English: A package and pill of atorvastatin 40mg (Lipitor). (Photo credit: Wikipedia) |
Since starting work on Personal Health Cloud, I'm always hearing stories of how people manipulate their prescribed medications. Instead of taking them as prescribed and modifying their lives to eventually control and hopefully eliminate the dangerous condition, they manipulate dosages to support their unhealthy lifestyle. Wha-what!?
Then, there's the debate over the efficacy of generic drugs. Are they just as good or not?
Imagine manipulating dosages with a generic that has completely fabricated its results. This epic inside story of long-term criminal fraud at Ranbaxy, the Indian drug company that makes generic Lipitor for millions of Americans while long is abundant food for thought.

And, it isn't just the drug makers that are guilty. Our own governmental agencies are letting this happen, over and over and over again.
Better yet, take a deep breath. Make a commitment to yourself and your loved ones. And, get healthy in as natural a way as humanly possible!
